PRIDE partners with leading businesses to create jobs for people with disabilities.

ROSEVILLE – PRIDE Industries reports a 575 percent annual increase in the number of PRIDE employees with disabilities in community employment and a 400 percent increase in the number of PRIDE supported employment community work groups in Northern California. The growth is attributed to a focus on increasing employment integration opportunities and greater understanding of the value of hiring people with disabilities within the business community.

PRIDE’s supported employment program provides the tools, training and coaching necessary for individuals with disabilities to succeed in the workplace. With time-tested vocational expertise developed over more than 40 years, PRIDE carefully assesses each individual’s strengths and interests, provides continuous training before, during and after employment, and then carefully matches each individual’s abilities with employer needs in either individual or work group placements.

Group placements provide a supportive peer-sharing environment at businesses in the community. Over a one year period, PRIDE’s added 28 new supported work groups at businesses in the community. This led to a corresponding increase in the number of individuals employed in these groups, from 16 to 108.

Regional business partners include Ingram Micro, TASQ Technology, Rite Aid Distribution Center, Unisource, Pasco scientific, Thomson Grass Valley, West National Warehousing, Sims Recycling Solutions and a group known as the Fairfield Rovers, providing services to a number of businesses and organizations in Fairfield, CA.

“PRIDE has not only helped us achieve our financial objectives, but also helped us to achieve our social obligations to the community by employing a large number of people with disabilities” said Jeff Solomon, AVP, Sales – West Region; Unisource Worldwide, Inc. “Unisource is very committed to a healthy bottom line financially and socially.  Our relationship with PRIDE Industries has fostered growth within both companies.”

“Our services are designed to be comprehensive, giving the individual and employer the greatest chance for success.” said Vic Wurston, VP for PRIDE Industries. “We recognize the unique abilities of each individual, and customize our approach to maximize each person’s full potential. In so doing, we prove there is real business benefit to choosing PRIDE Industries.”
