ROSEVILLE – PRIDE Industries was honored yesterday at the 2013 Employer Awards Recognition and Seminar event, hosted by The Monterey County Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities (MCCEPD). PRIDE was recognized for outstanding achievements in hiring and retaining people with disabilities in the workforce.
PRIDE Industries is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating jobs for people with a wide range of disabilities. PRIDE provides a supportive environment, training, and opportunity to help people with disabilities overcome obstacles and find meaningful employment.
MCCEPD works to educate employers and the public on the qualifications, motivation, and commitment of people with disabilities. The all-volunteer organization is dedicated to expanding awareness of abilities instead of limitations. MCCEPD strives to maximize employee retention and workforce diversity.
The award recipients were nominated by members of the community. MCCEPD recognized each employer for their strong commitment and ability to successfully employ people with disabilities in Monterey County. Along with PRIDE Industries, five local companies were recognized at the event.
