PRIDE Industries Receives ‘Partnership of the Year’ Award for Achievement in Employing People with Disabilities

ROSEVILLE – PRIDE Industries at Fort Rucker was honored Friday, Oct. 25, with the 2013 “Partnership of The Year” award, presented at the 25th Annual Governor’s Committee Award’s Recognition in Dothan, Alabama.

 

PRIDE Industries is a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to creating jobs for people with disabilities. PRIDE provides a supportive environment, training, and opportunity to help people with disabilities overcome obstacles and find meaningful employment in contracts nationwide. The Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS) is a key partner in creating opportunity for employees of PRIDE Industries who provide base wide facilities support services to Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker).

 

The Governor’s Committee in conjunction with the Dothan Area Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities promotes employment, rehabilitation, and advocacy of individuals with disabilities.

 

“Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS) is honored to partner with a company like PRIDE as their goals and our goals are the same,” says Jennifer Boykins, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor at ADRS. “To give people with disabilities an opportunity to become gainfully employed and to give those employed a sense of pride.”
