Mary Flores Appointed as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

ROSEVILLE, CA. (March 11, 2020) — PRIDE’s Chief of Staff, Chief Operating Officer Mary Flores, has been named Chair of the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She joined the Chamber as a Board Member in 2018 and promoted to Vice-Chair in 2019.

The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a 600+ member organization, was founded in 1972 to address California’s changing population, economy, and the issues surrounding the local Hispanic community. Its focus is to increase educational and economic opportunities both statewide and nationally and to strengthen relations between Spanish-speaking businesses and the communities that they serve.

As Board Chair, Flores will be responsible for the governance of the Board of Directors, acting as the liaison between the CEO and the Board, as well as leading membership, advocacy, and leadership development efforts. Under Flores’ leadership, the Chamber will soon commence a Latinx Leadership Program and Entrepreneurship Academy. In her previous role, she managed fundraising, board and member recruitment, and event management.

“We appreciate Mary’s active Board engagement with the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber,” said President and CEO Cathy Rodriguez Aguirre. “Her vision and strategic planning have been vital to our growth, and we look forward to her leadership as Board Chair.”

Flores has worked for PRIDE Industries since 1993. As PRIDE’s Chief of Staff, Chief Operating Officer, she is currently responsible for developing operations strategy, governance, and managing the operations portfolio of services. Flores has more than 30 years of experience in federal contracts administration and has an extensive background in business operations overseeing pricing, negotiation, new business onboarding, management, and program optimization.

Active in the community, Flores also serves on the Board of the American Leadership Forum, Mountain Valley Chapter (where she is a Class XII Senior Fellow). Formerly, she served on the Board of Child Advocates of Placer County.
