The new name honors the company’s longtime CEO, Michael Ziegler

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — PRIDE Industries announced today that the organization’s fundraising arm will be renamed The Michael Ziegler PRIDE Industries Foundation. The new name honors Michael Ziegler, PRIDE’s longtime CEO, who passed away in May.

“The name change is a fitting way to honor Mike,” said Bob Lorber, Chair of the nonprofit’s foundation advisory board. “He strongly believed in PRIDE’s mission, and for 37 years, he made it his life’s work. It was his drive and dedication that grew PRIDE into the nation’s leading employer of people with disabilities. Mike’s love and passion for PRIDE will be with all of us forever.”

Since its founding in 1966, PRIDE’s mission has remained constant: to create jobs for people with disabilities. The company uses a dual approach to fulfill this mission. Its primary source of funding comes from business services sold to customers in multiple industries. This revenue source allows the nonprofit company to provide top-quality services to customers plus job placement and coaching to people with disabilities, including service-injured veterans.

PRIDE’s foundation generates additional funding for the organization, enabling it to help more people and to provide other services like person-centered job training, paid internships, assistive technology devices, and free transportation to and from work.

PRIDE’s board of directors was unanimous in their decision to rename the foundation.

“The Michael Ziegler PRIDE Industries Foundation will help hundreds of people this year alone,” said Jeff Dern, CEO of PRIDE Industries. “Just like Mike would have wanted.”
